Michael & Diane founded the company in 1983 after identifying a need in the market for commercial units for the small and medium size businesses within Plymouth, Devon.

Sugar Mill Business Park was acquired in 1983 and thereafter a succession of acquisitions within the region occurred which now culminate in 16 business parks within the South West region.

Matthew J Hockin BA. (Hons) Accountancy
Group Finance Director

Matthew joined the company in 1998 to assist with the financial aspects of the company. His role as Group Finance Director is responsible for controlling the day-to-day financial aspects of the business. He is also responsible for the management of company funds and the organisation of finance for new acquisitions.

James Hockin
Group Operations Director

James joined the company in 1996 to assist with the day-to-day running of the operational aspect of the business parks. His role as Group Operations Director has developed with the company and he now manages the development aspect of the business parks and reviews possible acquisitions identifying commercial opportunities.

Ian Le Grice
Estates Director

Ian has recently joined the team after relocating from Berkshire. He has over 10 years experience on various property types and has worked for Slough Estates plc for the last 3½ years as a Senior Estates Surveyor. Ian will be responsible for managing the Business Parks and dealing with tenants on Leases and Lease Renewals. Ian will also be looking for new development opportunities across the Region.

Andy joined us in September 2006 having successfully run his own residential building and developing business for over 20 years. He is responsible for all residential developments and is always reviewing possible acquisitions to expand the residential sector.

Personal Assistant

A professional and versatile Personal Assistant/Administrator with extensive experience in both the private and public sectors. Karen’s current role is PA to the Estates Director, dealing with the daily monitoring of new client enquiries and liaising with existing tenants and updating the tenant database.

Group Site Foreman

Gary joined the company in 1999 as a Plasterer and has now progressed to become the Group Site Foreman and controls and oversees a team of men in the conversion of redundant buildings into a variety of business units.

Special Projects Manager

Gerald joined us at the beginning of 2006 and is responsible for all planning and development projects, primarily to enhance commercial sites owned by London & Westcountry Estates Ltd and their ancillary companies, by way of utilizing unused space and land.

Accounts Assistant

Michelle is an experienced Accounts Assistant and since her arrival in 2005, has gained much knowledge about the day to day running of the accounts department. As well as dealing with all aspects of the Sales & Purchase Ledger, Michelle manages the Payroll. She is the first point of contact for all sales ledger and purchase ledger enquiries.

Richard is a Surveyor and has recently joined the company with over 15 years experience in the construction industry. His diverse role is to assist the Operations Director and Estates Manager with the continuous development of the day to day operations of the company and liaising with existing and potential tenants.
